OP is in Chicago and shack may be in the basement. Thus, keeping electrical things off the floor is wise.

It’s a compromise. It makes a null on the pole direction. It’s a dual banded VHF/UHF.. I tried to mount it on a stand-off a couple of feet off the mast but it’s an unguyed mast and caused it to lean a bit...

Its there only because of some short power cables that can’t reach the upper shelf... I know what you’re all thinking but it’s a quality UPS and there’s no RF from it... Every cable behind there is lined with ferrites anyway...

Very nice monitoring station. I have an Alinco DJ-X11 as well and would like to put it on a stand like yours. I'm wondering how it works since the Alinco doesn't have a real belt clip on the back. Is it unstable on that stand for you? Thanks
