Depends who you talk too.....
I have heard it called TRS01, System001, System1, System01 EPRTRS01, EDACS001, EDACS01, EDACS1, Edacs..... and the list goes on and on.
Offically its called "Public Safety Radio System"

It's a standard EDACS system (EDACS 9600). Most likely any Trunktracker you get will track it - though if people are using digital or encryption (which I don't know - it's not specified in the TRSDB) you won't hear them. Doug can probably answer that part a bit better.

Just make sure the radio is capable of monitoring trunked EDACS radio systems. Most of the trunktracker series scanners do
As for digital, (Police) only the 4 dispatch channels remain in the clear, The rest are PV (Provoice digital) or PV Encrypt,Thank the media for that

Fire and Ambulance remain in clear.

Hmm .. paying 25$ for something that probably isnt even very accurate. Sounds like a win / lose situation.

With the advent of easy-to-use programming software and the propagation of ready-made data files for certain areas, I can't fathom why people don't just download the appropriate stuff and do it themselves. Heck, most of the time for most of my scanners (except the 396), I program them by uploading an ASCII file thru HyperTerminal, created from output generated by my Excel master table of frequencies. Not much more software than already exists in Windows. (Still, newbies would want something much easier, and there is.)

Then again, there are people who are having trouble even with programs that have "Guided" modes which literally step you through a process hand-holding you all the way..

Paying to program the channels in?! Nice scam... It takes 15 minutes to learn and 10 minutes to program in the frequencies...

Does that price include all the alpha tags, patches and correct identifiers?
