SC200: The Elusive Sportcat SC200 Programming Cable...

I've searched far and wide, exhausted every possible option. I came into a lot of these SC200s and I want to update them. Just looking to buy a cable from someone, hell even borrow.

i did not find a firmware update, so what is to update ?

race frequencies and driver names, circuits, etc. They all change. If one wishes to purchase one of these from me as a race scanner, I'd like to be able to update those without doing it manually, and with software you can add alpha tags. Additionally, you can add alpha tags to other standard conventional analog frequencies as well in softare. So, there's a lot you can do in softare that isn't FPP.

What is the difference between FTDI and Prolific USB serial cables other than the FTDI are more expensive?. Our FTDI cables have LED activity lights and are typically 6 feet in length. Our Prolific cables do not have activity lights and are 3 feet long.

Op, seriously I think Rich has something here, I think a lot more BC245XLT units sold than the SC 200.. try an intensive search on Google and any other Market for the cable for the BC245XLT.. you might get lucky.

Plug the smaller end of the supplied RS232C cable into the remote port which is on the right side of the scanner.
Plug the other end of the cable (DB-9 serial connector) into a personal computer’s serial port.
