The Frequency Directories of Scannerstuff.Com

Scannerstuff.com, as most know, is publishing a Southern California directory, to complement those published for other, mostly adjacent, regions. In order to decide whether I should buy one, I ask the following:

1. (directed at those who have purchased one or more of the other directories from scannerstuff.com, and NOT those affiliated with said site)

Did you find the directory filled-in gaps, answered questions, or provided info that you had no luck finding, or could not be found easily, anywhere else?


2. Has anyone purchased, or has anyone considered purchasing, the SoCal edition?

I have the 8th ed. of the "Northwest Frequency Directory" by Scannerstuff. Only problem I see is that, up here at least, only the major metro areas are covered. That does leave some gaps. I'm not sure how the SoCal edition will look. But I do think that the quality of the directory is very good and it is worth it if you travel to the areas covered.

I have their Atlanta, GA version.

This version is complete, accurate, and full of very useful stuff.

I know one of the guys responsible for this and the Arizona book.

Good guy and good book, although I can't speak for the SoCal book.

I ordered it. It looked good on the web site with the preview stuff. I should have by the end of the week. Once I get it and check it out I will post on it. Will be nice to see if they have all of our (Kern County Fire) new freqs. I have found two Tac channels that are not right so far.

Once you find them out, why don't you post them in the RR DB to make them right?

I just got the Scannerstuff Southern California Frequency Directory today. I like what I have seen so far in it. I will have to plug in their numbers for the Tac's that I was having problems with and see what happens next time at the station. It is good to have all the info in a book when you can't get online. Anyone know if they will do a book for Northern Cal?

Your best guides for NorCal are by Bob Kelty. Scanners Unlimited and HRO sell them. Unfortunately he doesn't have a website.
