How about my predecessor - an NRD 515? Pretty ancient, I know, but still goes like a charm. Octave wide bandpass filters right at the antenna input, very sensitive, rock solid stability against WWVH and great audio, Unfortunately the memory unit has packed a big sad after the previous owner (Japan Air Line office at Auckland airport judging by the stickers on it and the fact it was tuned to 8843kHz, the old AM SP frequency and the dust on the knobs!) left the batteries in which then leaked all over the board which took out a lot of plated-through holes on the PC board and ate the legs of the RAM chips which are now unobtainable. The memory unit on EPay is now about what I paid for the whole lot (including the right speaker) about 2005! Most of the radio IC's are still available TTL and I am slowly building up a stock of spares hoping that Murphy doesn't strike! My friend Mike (Invergordon) has now got one and he's amazed too!
