Your MV-22 Ospreys might be part of Fleet Week the Navy is having up there.
If they're low, they would probably be using the same freqs normal copters and other VFR would use. Darker would be the AF version. But sounds like it's Marine. Maybe just seems darker back-lit.

The Air Force has them. They have a full squadron of them for one of their Spec Ops unit. They were based at Hurlburt but might have moved out to Cannon in NM. Eglin has a couple for their test unit. See attached pic:
corn thanks for the heads up on the info. like i said in my post i have been out since 1993 and it is hard to keep up with everything nowdays. i do know that orginally the osprey was gonna be just for the marines and it came close to being scrapped due to crashes but they got the "bugs" worked out and they went ahead with the program. glad to see the other services using the aircraft. most of the time it is the other way around and the marines get the reject equipment from the other services.
