In case anyone is interested....
As some of you are aware, I bought a couple MDT9100's for tinkering purposes. I had originally planned to try and use one as a data decoder but have since rethought that idea - just too icky legally, and the agencies around me have long since upgraded from these units anyway so I doubt it would do much good. My NEW goal is to get it to display stuff on the screen using a custom program I write. That would look really cool in the PD cruiser I plan on restoring, methinks. 8)
So, with that in mind, I'd like to query the masses and inquire if anyone here happens to have documentation on just how to talk to these units. On one side of the unit there's a 25 pin female port labeled "RADIO" and on the other there's a 25 pin male port labeled "I/O". I/O is what I'm most interested in, I think. I'm hoping that, if you know the right commands, you can put up silly messages and such on the screen. If anyone can help, reply here or send me a PM.
Thanks,
-AZ
