Just dropping in some shack up-dates. Got to cleaning up the living room (where the equipment lives) and wanted to throw in some up-dates. Couldn't find my old Shack pic posts so started a new thread. But my shack is archived somewhere here.

Currently I run: R/S Pro-136 (Great for Weather, FM Radio and local stuff) It will pick up Dallas almost Crystal clear with that PRYME RD-98 UHF Antenna. I have the BC898T running through the PC streaming Collin Co. Sheriff and McKinney PD on ScanAmerica: Live Police, Fire, and EMS Scanners. My Newest Scanner, the Pro-106 is my workhorse. And I have a Pro-2052b sitting on the left speaker. A'top of it, a GE Communications (Maxon SM-4400 16-Channel UHF Mobile. I have several GMRS repeaters in it and Dallas Police. it's attached to a 9 element Motorola Yagi on the roof. Yes, that's an Icom IC-F43GT and a Motorola P110 to the left and right of the monitor. All my scanner's and PC run through the power amp on the left side of the desk, the Pro-106 outputs through the Logitech desk top speakers, Both the Pro-106 and 898T run on a VHF J-Pole on the roof. The 136 and 2052b are on Indoor duck antenna's. 2 power supplies feed the entire radio system Freeing up my wall outlets for the Computer and some chargers. It's functional and works. Might not look the best, but it works for me and Will always be in transition. Ever changing, growing and being fixed until the "perfect" station pop's out of the floor!

I have to say I'm impressed, looks very good right now. And, when you get to that perfect shack I'll have to say I'll be blown away.

Thank you for the compliment's All. Its a work in progress, always changing. I have a piece of sheet metal already punched for both radio and speakers that will go where the Amp and 898T are. A face plate. With Mobile Audio speakers on each end. The Power Amp will control the audio for everything. But its a matter of time. That's something I am finding less and less of. The Wiring in the back will all be cut to precise measurement and concealed and the desk will be able to roll up in a MCV and go if the event ever required it. Future plans are to be able to switch Everything from AC to DC with the flip of a master switch. I have plans to add SO-238 Connectors to the rear with everything marked so it will become a "plug and play" system. Need to eventually add another LCD for Weather Radar and Yahoo messenger (LOL) unlike some of you who run triple and quad monitors, I'm good with a single monitor for most stuff. But another for continuous weather radar would be nice. First I am replacing my Computer case. I am a Gamer, Battlefield 2142 and World of Warcraft. So it would be nice to have more air flow than I have now. Then maybe a new monitor then another Digital Trunker ...

Again, Thanks everyone for the compliments! It's not the Master Control at Radio Reference.com but it works for me.

Sorry to say it, but the back of this setup looks a total mess.
But then again so do allot of other setups that no one wants to show.

But Yeah, The front view looks good................

Digital-Analog, they all do .... None of us want to admit it, but if we all looked behind the console we'd stare in agony. I can solder and mess with electronics all day long but Never make my own stuff look perfect. I'd bet when you go to work and wire up a box it looks just awesome. But when you come home you could care less about messing with wiring. And when do any of us really have the time to go messing with wires? I don't. But I do make my coax look nice as it's the only real exposed part of the wire system.

Nice web site by the way. I never knew Cobra made a scanner. Good stuff on D/A's web site, y'all.

Later's
