I'm wondering what the exact message you are getting is ? At the end of the dialog box it will write out exactly whats wrong. Also, what version are you using?

Here is exactly what it says word for word..Cannot connect to radio reference.Verify you have entered the correct username & password & that your internet connection is avalible..I am using Freescan.7G

Okay I think I know what the problem might be. You have to upgrade to the latest version. To do this, uninstall .7G first and then download and install the latest version and you should be good.

Assaf, could you change the import feature to allow to select P25 Standard (Digital XT) for XT models or Mot Type II / P25 for the classic models? Currently it imports as Mot Type II / P25 only, then you have to change it manually and the re-save the .996 file.

Assaf, when I try to download a large system, say MPSCS, it says the system has more than 20 groups and gives you the option of compressing, but on a system this large the point is mute even for the XT models.

Would it be possible to do a download from the radio and have FreeSCAN do a comparison with the database and update the information (alpha tags) for the unidentified talkgroups. Maybe have a check mark method to select the unnamed talk groups since the radio has the TGID as an alpha tag until you change it.

Just another thank you

Assaf,
Post after post after post about issues with Butel software not working with the new RR interface.
Yet, your free software created for no financial gain is working right through the transition.
I have already donated for this software and after wading through pages of problems with others this week; you will see another donation coming from me this week.

Just want to thank you again for a great piece of work...that once again was updated.

Thanks bonus, I always appeciate the support I get from you and other users that have chimed in here. I started using the new soap interface with version 0.8 that was some time ago, and that first release (after many changes from 0.7g) was, well, perhaps less then perfect. So FreeSCAN is not immune to having some glitches after large changes but I got those issues worked out some time ago so this change has been smooth sailing for most of FreeSCAN users. Cheers.

Assaf, is there a way to turn on GPS for multiple sites at the same time? How about a GPS flag for all sites (or groups) in the system settings?

No there is no way to do that for all at once. But you can probably do about 100 sites in 2 minutes just by clicking. I'm not sure how many you are dealing with though?

You know, I've read all the post for all the various softwares, and it's very pleasing to know that FreeScan seems to have the LOWEST amount of complaints/problems than the $$$ software!

Thanks cpuerror! I think I'll be sending you another donation!

scannow.org 404?

Am I the only one getting a "Forbidden" from scannow.org? Thinking it was a DNS issue, I tried both ScanNow.org - The Home of FreeSCAN! and scannow.org but get 404 from both. Been like this for a few days.

I take it partially back - I'm being "forbidden" from seeing content - not 404 (though, apparently, no 404 message was found!)

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access / on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/2.2.13 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.13 OpenSSL/0.9.8k DAV/2 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at scannow.org Port 80

Sure enough - I have access to a system on a different net and can get there fine.

BOGUS.

I just noticed you are in Oklahoma. I recall a thread that discussed the state of Oklahoma is prohibited from access due to someone in the state that Assaf does not like.

As I said bogus.

Not to worry, I got the software anyway. Sure hope Rob gets his rewrite of bcTool done soon so I can stop bothering with this one ...

 to your comments plaws. Why not give Assaf the benefit of the doubt. Seems to me there is a rush to judgment against Assaf and his program from a few of you here. I mean let's not wait and let Assaf speak for himself. I mean maybe he has a perfectly reasonable reason why access to his site is configured the way it is. But hey, it is easy to criticize while you at the same time still use Freescan. "Stop bothering with" Freescan indeed. If you are so bothered by this issue and it is such a bogus situation (your words) then stick to your guns and only program your 396xt or 996xt by hand or use ARC XT. Assaf has put a lot of time and effort into Freescan. He has reached out to members of the hobby (which he did not have to do) when they had issues with the software along the way. He has demanded nothing in return.
For some around here to attempt to smear his software and everything that he has put into it is sad.
My suggestion: let's wait and let Assaf tell his side of the situation.
