cpuerror a question please?

Hello again, and thanks again for this great piece of software. My question is when entering the I call wildcard of .0, is this valid for type II Mot systems as well? Also I've entered the .0 in Freescan when programming with the software only to have the automatic system optimizer tell me this is an "invalid entry". Should I just disregard that message? I have not had the wildcard programmed in long enough to see if it will actually pick up any I call transmissions, so I'm wondering. Thanks again...... John.

.0 is right for an i-call wildcard for any system. It's safe to ignore the optimizer on this one, Next version I will change it. If you are using a non-xt scanner then make sure i-Call is enabled in the system settings as well.

Thanks for the quick reply. That's the way I have been entering the wildcard, with a BCD396XT, but only after I entered the .0 manually in the scanner did I pick up any I call transmissions. Have others mentioned that or is it just me, which means I've been making a mistake somewhere.

Hey I have a BCD996T that is up and running pretty well here in our newsroom and we are adding a portable BCD396XT. I used ARC to program the 996 and have an arc996 file I'd like to just use to clone the 996T to the 396XT.

Is this possible? Should I use freescan instead or what?

Dont need any of the gps stuff or bells n whistles. We just need to hear it all and see our talkgroup names etc.

Thanks
-Scott

You can import the arc file into FreeSCAN then into the XT or just read the memory of the 996 then send it to the XT. That should be all you need.

Hi all. I'm trying to run Freescan .9d in a VMWare server virtual machine (XP SP3) and it won't connect.
I have the serial ports defined properly, and all of my other radio software RX320, Probe, Win500, Proscan will talk to all of my radios, but Freescan gives me errors.

On Download I get the error "This verson of Freescan is only designed for the ....."
On control, I get the error "Cannot Establish. Bad data or incomatible"

I'm using COM2 at 115,200 same as the other BCT15 programs.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Steve

I've used it in VMWare workstation, so maybe its something in the configuration, for example you may need to enable or disable DTR.

Thanks, tried that - no luck. There are no config settings for the serial port in VMWare Server 2.
I'll play with it some more and see if I can get it working.

Sounds like the file is corrupt. Sometimes if it is sent over email it gets treated as a text file and this causes problem. If your friend did send it this way, I suggest having him zip the file first then trying again.

I dropped the speed to 57,600 and it works fine. Odd, because I did a firmware upgrade at full speed.
Oh well whatever works....

my virus ware must be buggering it too cause the "zip" file would not work either, but the "RAR" did fine. i have been using winrar for several years now cause pk zip just dont cut it anymore.

thanks for the replys though , all is well now....

I fired up VM Workstation 6.5.2 at 115k and it worked, strange it wouldn't work with your version. Glad to hear it is working now though.

bob,
PKZip, now that brings back some old memories!

How can I get a group of frequencies or TG's from one file to another, and how can I move groups arond within a file?
