There is no Recall button?!

On th 396T, you can press Function button and RCL, then tap the top knob once to scroll through your zones, press the top knob again, you can scroll through the groups.

The 396XT will not allow you to get into the groups to scroll through them. Why?

This is the exact problem the 996T has - no ability to recall groups.

Hopefully this can be fixed on a future firmware upgrade

You must be talking about on trunked systems. Because of the multi-site trunking feature, the recall doesn't function the same way. I think I'd rather have multi-site tracking.

Trunked or conventional - same thing.......

Why would miltisite trunking effect how recall functions?

I was thinking because of the way the group was now under the system and not associated with just one site. Anyway, I'ts no longer a function on the keypad.

Seeing as the XT has more memory, etc, you'd think Uniden could add this to firmware someday I hope.

XTS3000: System/Channel tagging has completely made that function unnecessary. Just add a System and Channel tag to the channels you often want to recall. Then, to go to the system and channel (example system tagged 4 and channel tagged 124):

HOLD, 4.124, MENU

will jump directly to that channel.

I mentioned this in several threads in the past but I really believe the System/Channel Tag feature is one of the most useful but most overlooked feature in the XTs. Here in central NC Wake County uses a system of Public Safety "PS TAC" Channels numbered 13-39. I tagged both the system & TGIDs to match up with the PS TAC Channel #. So if I quickly want to monitor PS TAC 27 for an event all I have to do now is hit HOLD, 99.27, MENU and BOOM! I am right there. Quick, easy, and painless.

Thanks for the tip. I never realized what system/channel tagging was for. Will give it a try later tonight.

Thanks for the info
