The Pro-96 still amazes me!

I'm not trying to start a Pro-96 vs BC296D fight, but I will say the Pro-96 is awesome. I live in Hamilton County and the digital transmissions from the Indy site are very clear...it's like you are standing right next to the Indiana State Police and others who use digital transmissions on the system. Anyway, I would highly recommend the Pro-96 to those who would like to monitor the Safe-T system.

Also, I'm awaiting arrival today of my Christmas present to myself...the AOR AR8200 Mark IIIB wide band receiver: http://universal-radio.com/catalog/widerxvr/0083.html I can't wait to get my hands on this receiver!

I would have to agree with you. I am a long time Uniden scanner owner, but I switched to the PRO-96 out of digital frustration with my 250D. Many digital transmissions were unintelligible on the 250D, and the lack of digital AGC was really annoying! The Pro-96 has much longer battery life, the ability to run on Ni-Mh batteries or alkalines, and sounds a lot better on digital without constantly adjusting sound quality like on the 250D. The Pro-96 can be programmed more quickly too.
