The Pryor site for the state's 800 is pending level 2 on the FCC database. Sounds like that part of the state will have 800 soon including Troop L.
Here are the frequencies...

Pryor

856.7125
857.7125
858.7125
859.7125
860.7125

How long does it usally take from the time they apply for the license until they are up and running. I assume that they will have to go through a testing phase.

Do you think any of the local agencies will join the State system?

On of the radio techs told me last summer it should be up by fall.........
Needlass to say it did not happen. I wont hold my breath. I was up by
Pryor las week and had no problem transmitting or receiving. Just north or there was another story. My laptop was having problems keeping connected too.

So my question is: Are they giving up on the Western part of our state? We seem to be the poor step childern here. No 800 mhz! No ht's for the troopers, still on low band. I guess were last on the list. :(

Awesome! Tulsa 800 system is almost out of range for me to listen to, just North of Pryor.

Does anyone know the details on it? I own several of the tower in this area, of course their not using one of mine or I would already know all the details. Which tower are they using? Does it have traffic on it currently for testing? I will punch it up and start monitoring.

When they will go online and what tower they will use is still unknown. The best thing I can advise all who are in that area to just program those frequencies in one of your priority banks and just listen for a control channel on (860.7125). If you here that soon then you will know that the system will be online shortly after.

I would bet that you won’t be able to pick up TPD on the Pryor tower unless they are patched with a regional mutual aid channel. On the Muskogee tower you can only pick up Tulsa County and OHP. I think this is because they only have a few frequencies on each tower to share with all the agencies in the area. I hope that the Pryor tower will broadcast TPD full time, but I kind of doubt it.

Maybe someone else has heard something different.......

Well at app. 4.75 miles West on Hwy 20 and .75 miles North from Pryor, that would probably be GRDA's main microwave repeater tower. It's also home to 147.060 HAM repeater, a UHF HAM repeater and one of GRDA Lake Patrols UHF repeaters. It's a "busy" tower in a good location.

There's also an older AT&T waveguide tower, that's be converted to a cell tower that is about 1/2 miles South of there, but the directions pretty much line up with the GRDA tower.

All of this physical location stuff doesn't really matter, I'm just curious more then anything. If it's the GRDA tower, it has the second best coverage of any tower in this area. It should have excellent coverage East of the Justice Hill range by Claremore, to the other side of lake Hudson to the East, with a slight dead/weak spot to the SouthEast towards Chouteau/Wagoner.

I've got the freq's plugged in and ready. Your right, I bet there won't be much Tulsa traffic on it. I would guess OHP Troop L will be the first users of it. I wouldn't think that any local agencies would switch to it, mainly due to cost. They may have a link to it in dispatch eventually, but I would be surprised to see them make the switch. I read Claremore has a new LTR system, so I would say they won't be on it. Pryor has a descent repeater that covers the town good. Mayes County Sheriff has excellent coverage it seems. Might be a ghost repeater for a while, at least until OHP Troop L gets converted.

Well the best part about it from a Law Enforcement Standpoint is that it extends the 800 range of TPD, Tulsa County and OHP. Before if any of those agencies got into a pursuit heading east, they would start to loose 800 service once they past Chouteau on 412.

So what's the deal with the new up and coming Pryor 800 site?

Anyone have an info on the status of it going live? Or what stage it is in?

I put the numbers in back when this thread was started, but haven't heard a single hiss of static or anything.. :(
