Just a heads up for NEXT week and the "Royal Visit"....exact times appear to be unannounced for now. But I am sure LAPD, LAFD, USSS, LAXPD, CHP, Santa Barbara County, Culver City, NOTAMS will all be active....heck maybe the HMS Illustrious will be offshore.

Royal 3 was the callsign for the Canforce Airbus used in Canada....not sure what they will fly to LA in.

There was a news story a week or so back about the Dept of State Security and LAPD setting things up in Hancock Park including warning neighboors that the area would be locked down during their stay.

Saw a news story about the Royal visit and expected large security production.

Article mentioned that the lead agency would be the Dept of State Diplomatic Security, assisted by LAPD Metro division, and CHP along with private security.

For the Santa Barbara event you'll most likely have the SBPD, and maybe County Sheriff be involved.

For the Culver City event at Sony Studios probaly have CCPD at the very least do some traffic management. Could also be interesting to listen to Sony's inhouse security as well.

Paparazzi anticipating a veritable royal feast of photographs when Prince William and his wife, Catherine, visit Los Angeles may be in for a rude awakening -- and a potential jail stay -- if they expect to take shots of the royal couple in certain parts of Hancock Park.

The Los Angeles Police Department has secured no-trespassing letters from residents who live in seven homes around the June Street residence where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will spend the night.

Those who live around the British Embassy have also signed keep-away orders, giving officers free rein to arrest prying paparazzi on the spot if they try to capture images of the royals while on private property.

"Our primary concern is to protect the rights and privacy of the residents as well as the safety of the royal couple upon their visit here to the United States," LAPD spokeswoman Mitzi Fierro said. "If they trespass on property where we have a signed trespass letter, they will be arrested immediately."

Some tabloids have already made lucrative offers to residents in the area but have not gotten any takers in the immediate area where the royal couple are staying, Fierro said.

The royal couple arrive in Los Angeles on Saturday. That evening, they will attend a black-tie dinner and reception hosted by the British Academy of Film & Television — of which William is president — at the recently renovated Belasco Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

The “BAFTA Brits to Watch” event aims to spotlight emerging British talent and build partnerships between Hollywood and up-and-coming British actors.

On Sunday, William and Catherine will visit the Inner-City Arts school on skid row and attend a job fair for veterans at Sony Studios in Culver City. They will leave Los Angeles that evening.

KFI now saying that they will be landing at LAX between 5-730pm....still not nailed down.....then they started joking that there would be a fleet of Mini Coopers driving up and down the sidewalks and stairs as these are Royals, not POTUS.

I like that....what, 8 cars? I remember seeing Clinton through NYC once and counting nearly 100


Good fakeout on the route using surface streets....sounds like LAPD Metro was even surprised
