Hello.
When you turn on the search mode, nothing happens. The frequency stays in the same place.
When you turn on the scan mode, the scanner does not receive any signals.
Also, when the squelch is at a minimum, no hiss is heard from the speaker. How can this be fixed?

Try Fn+0 to go to VFO mode and then push Menu and go down to P25/X2/DMR/NXDN and remove the tick in all those boxes. Then save and go back to Fn+0 and check if you get noise at squelch 0.

Check what you have programmed. Try entering a couple of conventional channels in EZ-Scan and include them in a scanlist and see to that the scanlist is enabled.

If nothing works then reprogram the firmware by downloading from whistlergroup.com and install the CPU upgrade for TRX-2E. If that works then download and install the CPU upgrade program for TRX-2 again.

Thanks... But it didn't help. The scanner also continues to be at the same frequency and does not start searching. Also there is no noise in squelch 0.

What is your city, county, and state, and which agencies would you like to monitor? If you attach your EZ Scan configuration file, I can check it for problems. Click on Attach files and Open the file. If you are scanning from the library, I can create a quick configuration file to see if the scanner works.

I have a suspicion that not everything is in order with the memory card. Now the program is scanning the memory card for errors. If they are, I will purchase a new card and try to install it in the scanner.

It always good to have a second card at hand. But TRX scanners seem to trash the filesystem a bit too often. Just format it again and let EZ-Scan prepare it. I have tried 3-4 different brands and sizes of SD cards and my TRX-2 that never gets turned off will always have one or two recorded files trashed when I turn off the scanner and let Windows check the file system. If you program the scanner using the USB cable then that is a source of error so try instead to use a $5 SD card interface connected to to the PC.

But going into VFO mode and enter a frequency and open the squelch shouldn't involve the SD cards file system.

Hi Ubbe and all. Without getting too far afield, can everything, including all firmware and software updates, be done via SD card as opposed to using the USB cable? I find the USB cable to be temperamental and problematic, aside from being very slow.

Firmware upgrades needs to be done thru USB. It's not as easy as Uniden does it and if I'm trying to upgrade using EZ-Scan it always seems to fail after a while. Using Whistlers standalone CPU upgrade program works using a USB cable, so I don't know what the problem are with EZ-Scan.

For some reason my TRX-1E seems to have no problem with USB and can be both programmed and firmware upgraded from EZ-Scan, although it's a slow process.
