The SDS100 is available at Lowe’s and Home Depot. Which means 10% off if you’re military.

I purchased mine yesterday and it should arrive this Thursday.

This will be my first experience in the scanner world. I’ve been using GMRS for 4-5 years now and I’m also currently taking an online class for my amateur license.

Anyway, I figured since the scanner was so expensive I’d pass on this potential savings method to everyone here.

I just looked at Lowe's. Their website says that on-line purchases are excluded from the military discount. I woulda got an SDS 200 too. . .

Whether or not you were in the military, and thank you if you were, I found that Lowe's offers a one time 20% discount up to $100 when you are approved for their credit card, which looks like it has other perks as well. Why not use it on an SDS100, SDS200, or whatever. Basically, spend at least $500 in a single transaction and get up to a $100 discount which can be used once online, or in a store. Also, I asked and the Military discount does not stack on top of the $100. It's either the Military and 10% or get their credit card and get a 20% coupon which can be used for the scanner/whatever.

Additionally, I took this photograph in a store today that has additional offers for first responders. The one line notes:
"...Active or retired..." in the fine print. This is separate from their credit card offer. I have a feeling there are some first responders around here.

It’s because they’re not actually from Lowes or any big box stores most of the time but people like to make misleading clickbait pretending stores sell cool stuff again or pretend they exist again (circuit city, Kmart, RadioShack). A majority of those are third party sellers and resellers, an attempt by these businesses to stay afloat in the rising tides of Amazonian reckoning.

The only scanners I occasionally see physically in stores were the WS1010 and BC75XLT but haven’t in a while.

I'm really grateful and thankful that Lowe's has done something for first responders!

If you have a Lowe's credit card you can still get 5% off with that. At least where I live all that does is cover the sales tax. Better than nothing though. I didn't buy one but was curious to see if it would work, and indeed it would.

I believe the $664 dollar deal someone recently posted would end up being a better deal. The company was from Texas so if you live outside of TX you wouldn't have to pay sales tax, plus free shipping if you spend $100-

Also Bearcat Warehouse has 10% code on their website, check the Uniden perspective owners sub-forum for these threads.

When I first got back into scanning around 2007, after being out for about 20yrs.. I bought the BC75XLT from Kmart.
