I believe it might be localized TGs, the helicopter communicating was LifeFlight 8 which is over in western TN. It sounded like they were dispatched through the TG

Being very active in all of West Tn I can tell you they are very much still using the Dispatch System they have used from day 1 when the base s opened. Also I have connections to Vandy and Air-Evac along with most Radio Shops including the TACN System I think I know. There are changes coming but not just yet.
I see, I appreciate the insight. By the way do you know if Stewart County is switching as well to TACN?

Any official answer would need to come from Stewart County Officials.
There are Multiple counties all over the state that will be switching over to TACN and many new sites and Existing sites will be upgraded...
I have a SDS200 and BCD536HP. The 536 is picking up the TACN but the SDS200 is not. The SDS200 is picking up everything else. But not the TACN system.

After years of trying to identify TG 48501 with secure strapping on the English Mountain site, I believe another user and I have finally confirmed its usage. I originally suspected it might be associated with Cocke County due to their TACN refurbished radios, and the evidence now strongly points in that direction.
Cocke County Sheriff investigators have been operating on THP District 5 Law Mutual Aid channels using radio IDs 4150426, 4150436, 4150451, 4150477, 4150484, and 4150487. More recently, RIDs 4150426, 4150428, and 4150451 have also been observed operating on TG 48501.
The database currently lists TG 48501 as Morgan County, but I believe that identification is incorrect. Based on monitored radio traffic involving mutual aid operations and Morgan County’s VHF primary channels, I have TGs 48511, 48519, and 48520 identified as Morgan County instead. I have mostly observed these on Windrock. I have also monitored RIDs 4151310, 4151330, 4151336, 4151340, and 4151346 on other TACN talkgroups positively identifying themselves as Morgan County units while using those talkgroups. It appears Morgan County and Cocke County were assigned talkgroups within a very close numerical range, likely because both counties received radios through distressed county funding programs around the same period.

It may be located anywhere in West Tn for several reasons
1 filling in for site maintenance
2 testing coverage for a prospective member joining
3 it might be a new site that was built to give a new member the coverage for their area that is needed.
This is all prospective as it is not discussed about new plans.

I observed the same 1.92 site in Mid April while wardriving to/from Memphis. I saw it on Friday/Sunday the weekend of April 18. It was an isolated neighbor to 1.47 and 1.58.

Why do you think it is funny that I do not want to lose a source of info?
I have noticed a new talkgroup that is "Unknown" in SDRTrunk, though. 47159. It sounds like their dispatch is in Knoxville since they call "Knoxville" when calling for dispatch. They appear to be doing a lot on roadsides, particularly the interstates. Is this TDOT Help? I see talkgroup numbers all around 47159 in the database, but not this specific one. Have they changed or added something? I never heard this talkgroup until after I randomly started having some reception issues and made some adjustments. I am still tuned to the same repeater.
This should be for the new Rural Service Patrol, which began slowly last Saturday for the Knoxville Region. These should be Region 1 Tac-2, similar to how it is setup for Chattanooga who kicked off in March/April. Memphis and Nashville are next up. I also haven't heard 47159 on Broadcastify calls, but it is very much active.

Is this in the database, and I'm missing it? or is this something "new" that hasn't been added? I checked and couldn't find it. Could be operator error. Also, any clue why I'm suddenly hearing this talkgroup? Before I had the reception issue, I never heard anything south of Jefferson County (which I don't actually even hear since they are encrypted). I don't hear THP in District 1, nor anything else in Knoxville. Just kind of odd to me. One thing I will say is that they talk all the time lol. I may wind up muting them. Either way, thank you for helping me confirm who they are. I'll add an alias.
The Rural HELP Truck Program contractors are now using TDOT HELP R1 TAC 2 (47159) in Region 1, and they actually came online a few days earlier than expected. Region 2 is also up on TDOT R2 TAC 2 (47160) for the Rural HELP program. I think West Tennessee is online as well and Nashville Region is next. So far, it looks like the Rural HELP trucks only have mobile radios and not portables, unlike the urban HELP units. That's pretty neat, thanks for letting me know. They are definitely hitting it hard. I hear them constantly. The rollout coinciding with the odd reception issues I suddenly started having made me wonder. I can't for the life of me figure out what has killed my reception to the Viking Mountain site. I'm getting some other sites/channels around the same frequency quite heavy. I have tried just about everything outside of taking down/moving the antenna. It used to come in loud and clear, and I haven't made any changes. Something is up, not sure what. I will eventually figure it out. I'm only maybe half proficient in all things radio.
If anyone wants to keep an ear out, Union County is currently demoing four Motorola APX NEXT radios with active SIM cards. There were reportedly some coverage or connectivity issues in the Sharps Chapel area initially, but they later appeared to be working properly. TACN also gave a presentation at either the April or May Union County 911 Board meeting. From what was discussed, the TACN representative seemed to strongly recommend encryption for law enforcement communications and potentially EMS as well, citing CISA guidance regarding personally identifiable information (PII), NCIC data, and ummm some HIPAA-related concerns (❓❓❓). I am not sure which talkgroup or channel they are conducting the testing on, but it may be worth monitoring for anyone interested.
