There's a 10 Metre Contest .........

"Did you know there is a ten metre event going on this weekend ?" --- Barbi

"....Go turn on the radio and let's see what's happening"

My friend pour herself some wine and sat down in front of my venerable Icom and twirled the tuning dial.

"Wow !" she said, "its really open !"

And indeed it was- from 28.7 down was solid with contest activity.

"Its the ARRL Ten Metre World Wide contest" I said, looking at the contest home page.
"......what have you gott'en so far?"

"LU7*** this is K*#**, you are 59 Colorado" ....Barbi

"I have a direct path into Argentina..... wait, what's this ?!" a twist the dial

There was a 4U1 call CQ contest..... "what prefix is that ?"
"Is this a French callsign ? .... he has a French accent**" ----Barb
(so does Barbi)

"Ha! " I said "I have never heard a 4U1 call"
"That's a United Nation's callsign"

And no one was going back to him
"Call him Barb"

"4U1** c'est K*#** ... comment me recevez-vous ?"

"In English Barb !"

She, Ignoring me ----------

"Bonjour Mademoiselle, vous parlez français ! Vous êtes cinq neuf à Wasington DC....."
(you speak French madam!..... you are 59 in Washington DC.....)

So anyway, there is a contest this week and ten is open
