Ive been into CB radio since the late 1990's. I purchased a recent version of the President McKinley SSB CB radio awhile back and used it off and on while traveling via the interstates on vacations and such. Recently I decided to reinstall it back in the car to monitor it daily on my commutes just to see if CB is still alive here. I was pleasantly surprised this week and last to find out that there is still ample CB radio traffic along the Colorado I-25 corridor & front range cities of Colorado. On channels 21 and 23 I primarily hear local short haul drivers, construction/maintenance & landscaping type companies, mom and pop delivery/hauling companies and commercial dump truck/hauling companies using it. On Ch19 there's some traffic on I-25 when their are traffic jams. But there are also the occasional locals along the way on base stations and in mobiles just chatting away and shooting the breeze on other channels such as 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 16, 18, 20, 25, 32, & 34. That part surprised me. Anyways I thought it was dead but its still hanging in and alive here!
