Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Can anyone suggest a good capacity lithium-ion battery for the XTS2500? I purchased an XTS 2500 because it was more compact than my XTS5000. However when looking at the photos of the XTS2500 the battery looks to add a fair amount of bulk to the radio. Can anyone suggest a thin quality battery that might give the XTS2500 a smaller profile? Thanks!

Wasn't that for the XTS5000? I actually purchased that battery and though it is lighter it does not change the width of the battery. Still pretty bulky. I purchased the XTS2500 hoping it was thinner and more compact than the XTS5000.

I guess it says that because of the top post, check down page 2 the pics. Its actually the HT1250 thin battery but will work with the XTS2500

I wonder if the battery I purchased was the one you posted. Because it is definitely not as thin as that photo. In fact I just looked at the battery and it is not a NTN9862. Might you have a link to the real NTN9862?

The thin one i use for my XTS2500 is HNN9013D Slim Lithium Ion 2100mAh i think.
Its for the Warris line so think HT750/1250 and uses their charger.
They also make a slim Li-ion charger that uses the XTS 2500/5000 charger but i dont recall the model number off the top of my head.

This is the one I purchased … it is not slim.

aftermarket ebay sellers SUCK. A lot of them advertise the wrong part numbers to make more sales. Unfortunately the real NTN9862D is discontinued from motorola so only way is to keep an eye out for new old stock somewheres or buy it used on ebay or wherever. The last new one I got was from 2019 rated 3000mah and 22.2wh and I guess they discontinued them sometime shortly thereafter. The real NTN9862 is approx 1/2 inch in thickness

So the HNN9013D cannot use an XTS2500 charger?
