Hey all, now that Nevada Div of Forestry is going over to the 800Mhz EDACS, and The forest service is moving to the 12.5kHz Narrowband. Its time to replace my pro-91. I've been looking at the pro-95 since its in my budget. My question is, is it a good scanner, and will it handle the EDACS and the 12.5 kHz Narrowband? Also is the reception pretty good.
Thanks Scott

AFAIK the Pro-95 is not capable of following an EDACS Narrowband system. It can hear the audio (at a somewhat reduced level), and can tune the frequencies, but it will not follow the 4800 baud control channel used on those systems.

Look at the 246T cost a little more than the Pro 95 but it comes with the a/c adapter, computer interface cable and rechargable batteries where with the Pro 95 it doesn't you have to purchase them seperate. I own both the Pro 95 is a great radio but for what you are wanting to listen to the 246T is what I would recommend.
