Thinking for doing live feed have a ? or 2

im runnin a new emachine lab top, it has a onboard sound device only mic and headphone jack, is this gonna be enough to do a live scanner feed or do i need a real sound card, or will onboard sound do just fine. thanks

I generally use my Dell desktop, but occasionally my wife's HP laptop gets the duty, and both of them have just the onboard audio.

I don't know if it's specific to that set-up, or if it also applies equally to machines with separate audio cards, but be sure to keep an eye on your audio settings ("playback/recording properties") so if you're playing music or whatever simultaneously that it doesn't go out with your scanner feed. Been there done that. :roll:
