I mean i have an attenna that is for an old bag phone and got a bnc adapter for it. but the end broke off because i accidently slammed my Attenna on the car door on the end and now it is broken. and i was going to buy another attenna at radioshack and i couldn't beleive how much it is for a car attenna. $34.99. That is a rip off. radioshack needs to lower their prices a little like for that attenna it should be $20.00 and their pro-96 is still $499.99 and it has been since it came out 4 months ago when are they going to lower the price a few hundered dollars on that thing so that a poor guy can afford it? Radioshack is terrible.

When ar ethey going to cut the price virtually in half? About the same time they put Hummers on sale for under $20K. Seriously, maybe when they put them on closeout. Guess you will be waiting a while.

Hmmm why does Uniden charge that much for thiers?? Its called business principles.. to make a profit. They have the digital scanners, you don't,... you want what they have, and since its a very narrow market, they can charge almost whatever they want as long as its competitive with thier oppositions prices. Andddddddd if you really want that digital scanner then you will pay whatever it costs.

No, it's actually called demand...you want a digital scanner, you're going to pay for it. I'm sure all of us with our digital scanners agree that three hundred bucks for the damned digital card was absurd...but we all bought them

Don't get me wrong, I hate radio shack as much as the next guy, but why is this antenna overpriced? Have you looked at prices of other antennas available? Antenna specialists, maxrad, larsen, niljon, mostly all of the antennas offered by these companies are more expensive than the Hack Shack antenna, and some don't even include mounting hardware or coax. I think $35 for an antenna that includes a magnetic mount and coax is a reasonable price. I'll agree that it's not the best antenna out there.........but thats why its $35 and not in the $50-80 range.

If you want a less expensive antenna look into a Hustler MRM. It's priced around $18-20, comes with a magnetic base and a short run of coax (12 feet I think). The MRM is about as cheap as they come.

Don't forget the rediculas cost of stocking hundreds of slow moving items in hundreds of stores across the USA.

All the overhead adds up to a healthy appitite for margin on everything they sell.
