BRIGHTON - Police say two adults were killed in an accident Saturday night that injured five children and three others.
It happened around 8:45 p.m. at Highway 7 and Holly Street.
Thornton Police tell 9NEWS a minivan traveling southbound on Holly ran a red light and was broadsided by a GMC pickup traveling east on Highway 7. The minivan ended up in a field on the southwest corner of the intersection.
An adult man and an adult woman in the minivan were killed. Two adult passengers and five children in the minivan were injured. The adults were taken to St. Anthony Central in Denver. The children were taken to The Children's Hospital in Aurora. Their conditions were not immediately released.
The driver of the pickup was also injured. He was taken to North Suburban Medical Center in Thornton. His passenger was not hurt.
Police do not suspect alcohol as a factor in the crash.
