Figured it would be good to go ahead and make a thread for Thunder 2019.... post any info. you have regarding comms this year...

I want to say that the air boss frequency will be the same as last year 120.300 but I am not a 100% sure on that it has been the same for the last few years would not be surprised if it stays that way

Someone has added a feed to Broadcastify using the event talk groups for Thunder

The feed description has these talkgroups and what they will be used for
Event 1 - Medical Operations (Louisville Metro & Yellow EMS)
Event 2 - Louisville Fire Operations
Event 3 - LMPD Security Operations (both Traffic & Security on Friday)
Event 4 - LMPD Traffic Operations (Saturday only; on Friday, Traffic is on 3)
Event 5 - Special Operations
Event 6 - Bridged with Kentucky State Police (Great Lawn security)
Event 7 - Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (Waterfront Park security)
Event 8 - Bridged with US Coast Guard (River Operations)
Event 9 - Logistics
Event 10 - Incident Command

This would probably be a very interesting feed to monitor throughout the day. Definitely helpful on monitoring traffic conditions and giving an idea of when to leave downtown. They start releasing traffic points when traffic is free flowing, mostly. But trying to move all that traffic takes forever.

I am heading down to Thunder from the Greater Cincinnati area again this year. Thanks for the posts. Also, a good friend in the know told me that the 120.300 would indeed be the airboss freq so long as there is no interference. Rod

I went to the practice airshow the airboss is 120.30 and he is on the top floor of the Gault House hotel
