I heard 8TAC93 852.5125 156.7 several times. It may have been early in the day though. One of the Air Evac units stated something like "radios sounds great up here, I'm picking up both repeaters"

They tested it Friday night and worked fine. On Saturday after 9am the issues started. Would work some and then drop offline I was told. After attempting to find the problem with no luck the decision was made to use other talk groups.

The 8-Tac system crashed and couldn't be used. Indiana Thunder units switched to the North and South Event talk groups.

The system didn't "crash" in any way.... A portable repeater trailer was brought in for the event. There was issues with an unknown agencies repeater on 8TAC93 causing interference and the agency responsible was not able to be located prior to the event so that the repeater could be turned off.

A decision was ultimately made to use the Statewide Event TG's in place of those repeaters to mitigate other issues that may arise. Many of the Statewide Event TG's were already in use and were just condensed to add more units to the same channel.

Eventually this unknown 8TAC93 repeater was located and the issue has been noted for future events.

The 8TACs were primarily used by Indiana agencies but could be used by Kentucky for interoperability if needed

Yeah, that's what I've been told. I was hearing them about 8 AM before anything acutally started, then they went to Safe-T.

Yeah I guess "crash" wasn't the best way to put it. You are correct on the interference from another source which was identified.
