Hello

Does anyone know which day the arrivals for the airshow will start...I'm mostly interested in when the USAF Thunderbirds are scheduled to arrive.

For most all 2 day weekend shows, arrival/area familiarization is Thursday, full show practice Friday, then of course full festivities Saturday and Sunday.

Dates and times can almost always be found by looking for TFRs/NOTAMS for a given location on the FAA website. The times are of course just going to be a "window" of time. (e.g. 10am-6pm)

Here's the requested info:

4/9008 NOTAM Details

The question I have now, since I've never been to this event when the Thunderbirds have performed, is will Ecorse Rd be shutdown, and in what areas specifically?

Thanks for your help...I am scheduled to go on Saturday, however I do have a few receivers programmed with Thunderbird / Willow run tower / Det App freqs in them..

I should really start listening for the arrivals tomorrow then..

Typically they will let people sit on Ecorse until about 1pm whereupon they boot everyone out between Beck & Denton roads. So you have to have a plan B, mine usually is to head for Mich ave and find the best spot between Beck & Denton roads.
Railroad tracks running parallel to Van Born are an option, but views are limited due to trees.

About 2:30 pm on the west side of town here in Bay City a low and 'very loud' jet, definitely not commercial and not A10's that fly over my house for touch and goes at MBS.
Normally I only see and hear planes flying into MBS, not outgoing as this was at least from that direction anyways. I quick went out but did not see, but definitely heard! Must have flown over my house, I cant help to think it was an aircraft heading to willow run for the weekend airshow of which I will be attending. on Sunday.

141.0750 AM Diamond "Victor 3."
148.1250 AM Victor 1

One thing for sure on the net and on this website the Victor freqs have been all named victor 1,2,3 at all different times.
These are ones that have been labeled all different victors Ive come across,
139.225 139.8 140.7 141.075 141.175

What does everyone have as those labeled as? I guess the main thing is they are in the radios, but always looking for the best and most accurate descriptions! Darn those alpha tags! hehe

I'll be there, we have tickets and will be in with General Admin. I'll have my 800 with me and have programmed as much as I can find. If anyone has any last min frequencies I should sure I have programmed I'd appreciate it.

The Thunderbirds flew within a half mile of my house. Unbelievable amount of chatter on the scanner as they flew towards Willow Run airport. Very little was serious, just some off-hand comments and chit chat.
