Went to Cheyenne, Wyoming to watch the Thunderbirds for their annual performance for the
Cheyenne Frontier Days.
Excellent show and weather cooperated perfectly.
Here are the freqs in use today:

143.7 am for the Diamond Formation
235.25 am for the Solo's

Wish I could've made it, but budget dictated not only no trips this summer, but no upgrade to a scanner that could receive them if I'd gone.

Oh well. Heard it was a good show again. Did you make the static display?

Crappy power lines, and they seems farther from the crowd line this year. The clouds didn't help in picture taking today either...

Static Displays

Yes I did make it to the static display.
The Wyoming ANG C-130's did most of the fly-bys, along witha few others.
Here is a posting of the aircraft, from Sandy in Denver, from another group.
Went up to Cheyenne WY today to see what the Open House at the ANG base was
all about. The following aircraft were on static display:

C-5A, NY-ANG, 68-0226.
C-17A, MS-ANG, 03-3119. "Spirit of G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery"
C-130H, WY-ANG, 93-7314, MAFFS-3 (Ex-731 AS acft)
C-130H, WY-ANG, 92-1538, MAFFS-1
C-130H, WY-ANG, 92-1533, MAFFS-4. Evidently NC and WY ANG units have taken
over MAFFS Nrs 4 & 6 from CA-ANG. Apparently the MAFFS gear won't fit in the
115 AS's "J" models.
C-130H, WY-ANG, 92-1536. Has 8-blade prop. First Herc I've seen with that
prop that wasn't a "J" model.
C-130H, WY-ANG, 93-7311. (Another ex-731 AS bird)
C-130H, WY-ANG, 92-1535.
C-130H, WY-ANG, 92-1531.
C-130H, WY-ANG, Tail # was 15315. No idea what that one equates to.
LC-130, NY-ANG, 92-1094, ("Pride of Glenville.")
T-1A, Randolph, 92-0340. Had red tail cap and horizontal stabs and was
lettered
"Tuskegee Airmen"
F-16C, CO-ANG, 86-0339.
T-6A, 37 FTS, Columbus, 06-3814.
AH-64A, UT-ArNG, 90-0453
UH-60A, WY-ArNG, 81-23598.
OH-58A, ND-ArNG, 72-21366.
CH-47D, Fort Carson, 90-0219.
UH-1N, F.E. Warren, 69-6670. "In the Spirit of the 9th Cavalry."
UV-18B, AAir Force Academy, 77-0464/N70464
Following Warbirds noted:
B-25J, N27493, Tail 327493, Serial 4429869
C-45H, N40074, Tail 21904, Serial AF843
T-33, WY-ANG colors, 53-6661
F-86L, WY-ANG colors, 53-0806
MiG-17F, NX9050M, "Red Storm". Was going to do a demo, but when he started to
taxi out his nose gear collapsed. Needless to say, demo was cancelled.
T-33, N514RH,
T-6/SNJ-5, N212TC, Tail 2141732.
Let L13AC Glider, Air Force Academy, N212TC, Serial 02-8902.
Boeing PT-17, N212PC (Stunt plane)
Thunderbirds were doing a show about 5 miles to the south, but didn't really
bother to listen too much. #6 came back early with a problem. Didn't see #7,
but there were
two #3's; one of which was in the hanger for maintenance.
Not as many fighters at this year's show, and not nearly as many military
demos as in years past. But it's better than nothing.
