If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Does anyone know why TIDRadio pulled their 0702 firmware update for the H3? The software download now only comes with the previously released 0625 update.

I read they pulled the firmware after it cause selected radios to either brick or damage the finales. Not sure but I would stay away till the resolve it.

Not all radios are affected and there is some suspicion that it was a particular batch that were vulnerable to whatever change they made in the firmware. Many people are using that firmware successfully, but there are a select few who end up with their finals disabled and transmit only milliwatts. There is a newer version of firmware available but I am not sure just how safe it is at the moment.

Have upgraded firmware as new versions are made available for the TD-H3. Made an inquiry to TIDRadio after 240702 was withdrawn from the web site. Wondered if it was necessary to revert back to 240625. Their reply stated that, "240702 is safe to use". Additionally they commented that the, "firmware is still under active development".

I've not experienced any complications.
