I stopped for a few hours in Tifton and decided to program the phase 2 system into my 436. I know it is supposed to be fully encrypted but what the hell. Well that was a total bust. Programming as a P25 trunk yielded sporadic hits on a couple of talkgroups with no audio. Full signal on the control channel. I then programmed it as a Motorola system and it didn't even lock on to the control channel. Zilch. Find it very odd that only a couple of mute"talkgroups" were in and out. Any ideas?

Modulation can be different and Uniden scanners suck at trying to lock on to them. I have a Harris P25 1 system just north of me and I couldn't get my mobile to lock on to it. SDR works great though.
