Sometimes we get our radio equipment with the best of intentions in mind, but time and other responsibilities can sometimes limit our ability to partake in the hobby. How do you rate?

Check my signature. When your hobby deals with events that happen in real time, you must too. I have caught quite a bit and folks find it odd when they notify me before I tell them of something breaking. The other day I was beaten to the punch with a possible meteorite explosion over Indiana.

With work and home responsibilities, I get a small amount of time to partake in the hobby. I usually get to spend 2-3 hours on the weekend if I'm lucky, and sometimes an hour or so during the week.

I run the Commuter Assistance Network on 2 meters -- Commuter Assistance Net -- I get to spend 2.25 hours each workday with radios.

Last year, The Scanner Guys interviewed me about how the net works and how scanners are an important part of it:

I'm retired.. And we have long cold winters.. I'm a bit under 10 hrs now, but was over 10hrs a week during the height of the lockdowns.
