Hello. I have 2 questions I am wondering if anyone on here who is from Timmins might know the answer to.

Earlier this morning I heard the Timmins Fire or South Porq units going to do some training at Northern College and said they were going to be using Channel 3 as their FIREGROUND channel. And I am just wondering what their channel 3 would be. So I can check to see if I have that channel already in my scanner.

Also a few days ago, I heard a Timmins guy talking to someone at the base and asking if the commander or maybe chief was there at the hall and I think he said no and then he said something about maybe trying him on Channel 2. Then after that he responded on the main channel. So I am also wondering if anyone from Timmins might know wut their channel 2 might be as well. So I can check my scanner to see if I have that channel in their as well.

I am just wondering these 2 questions, just to see wut they are, and then see if I already have them in my scanner. So if they ever said anything about going to Channel 2 or 3 for any reason, I will know exactly what channel that is they are going to.

So I will be waiting for any replies to this post. Thanks.

Coolguy,

I'm from Timmins. Once I heard that TFD will be using Ch. 2 for a boat rescue on Mattagami Lake. As soon as that was said, I put one of my scanner on search mode (range of 135.000mHz and 174mHz) and found nothing. It might be a simplex ch. If it is I should of been able to pickup a signal sonce I live about 2 or 3 km form the scene. It might be Fire Marshall Ops ch and Fire Mutual aid. Other than the main dispatch ch (153.740) I have no other freq for Timmins Fire. I'll keep my ears open and I'll let you know if I find anything. The ch. they used for trainning, it might be a ch. affiliated with Northern College

re: Timmins FD

yes, I did, but Timmins uses those too ! You should have 6 channels programmed in for Timmins Police too if you have them programmed in correctly.
