Tippecanoe county TRS Changing?

I decided to run UniTrunker on the Tippecanoe County Public Safety TRS (A62F) for the first time in about a month and, to my surprise, found there are a lot more channels including 2 new control channels. There seems to be 25 total channels total with 5 of those being control channels. I don’t know what’s going on but it gives me a reason to use UniTrunker again. I haven’t heard any traffic on the new channels but they definitely seem to be part of the system now.

Another control channel (860.93750) has been added over the weekend bringing the total number of channels UniTrunker is reporting for the system up to 26 with 6 of those being control channels. Of course I haven’t yet heard any traffic on the "New" channels but I do see Type "I" calls being logged.

Tippecanoe County's Public Safety trunked radio system uses some of those frequencies. Users Include:

-Tippecanoe County, sheriff, medics, emergency management, volunteer fire departments, and school corporation
-Lafayette police, fire, city services, and school corporation
-West Lafayette police, fire, and school corporation
-Purdue University police, fire, and physical facilities

I had been seeing activity in both versions of UniTrunker at home and at work for the past week using the PSR-500. It is wired because up until last week I too saw only what was in the database.

Right now I'm using the old version of UniTrunker with an older “.HZ” file and I don’t see the extra channels showing up at this time either. I’m thinking they might be doing some testing because I was receiving Type "I" hits on those extra channels last night at home as well as today at work. There was even anther channel that turned into a CC today that I haven’t posted about yet.

WAIT: As a matter of fact, as I am typing this, one of those newer channels just showed up in the list. Now instead of 8 there are 9 channels showing for the system. 867.32500 just showed up in the list. Enclosed is a screen shot with activity I just caught on that channel. As of today here is the list and status of the 26 channels that have shown up in UniTrunker and their disposition.

Two more screen shots before I go to bed of showing that 3 more channels came up making a total of 12 now using the old ".HZ" file. If UniTrunker runs long enough the 26 and maybe more will show up.

Never Mind...

I think I figured out what contributed to all the extra channels showing up for this system. On several occasions I had let UniTrunker run while my PSR-500 was in scan mode and over time Unitrunker was recording up a bunch of nonexistent/ghost TRSs. I deleted all the non existent systems and extra channels and let UniTrunker run parked on the control channel and it hasn’t found any extra channels since. A62F is as in the database. My bad.
