I installed a Samsung 250GB SSD and installed Windows 7 Pro 32Bit onto my older Dell PC. Now I can't get, what I'm calling, the title balloons to show up while I'm in the RR forums.

What I mean by that is when I'm in the forums and hover my mouse over a topic/thread, I use to be able to see what the OP had posted without opening up the thread.

I have another newer PC that I built myself, with the same model Samsung 250GB SSD running Win7 Pro 64bit. I have Seamonkey installed on that PC, (same version as what's on the older Dell PC), and when I'm in the RR forums, the topic shows up in a "balloon" when I hover my mouse over them. This newer computer mostly has different parts into it except for the SSD.

I'm going to guess that the problem is a setting on my computer but I don't have a clue where to start looking or what to try.
When this older PC had the older Western Digital 7400RPM hard drive in it loaded with Windows XP Pro 32Bit Service Pack 3 and a much older version of Seamonkey installed on it, I could read the balloons just fine.

Anyone have a thought as to what my problem might be???

And they are working fine on my other computer with Seamonkey browser.

I really don't want to hear what browser IS working OK. I'd rather hear what somebody might have as a fix.
And I don't mean switching browser either......

Thanks for the input though....

The "hint" popups you're referring to are Javascript code designed to provide a hint at what the topic discussion is with a tidbit from the OP (original post) in a given thread - if there's some issue of those not showing up when you do the hover operation it could be related to a pop-up blocker, script control addons or extensions, or something of a similar vein. I'm not saying you are or aren't using such addons, I'm simply saying that those pieces of Javascript that provide the hint functionality are sometimes dismantled in some respects by script control tools that can add/edit/block/modify certain aspects of the code that goes into making a webpage display properly.

It could be an issue with Seamonkey itself, I honestly have no idea, I know what that browser is but I don't use it personally - I use a customized version of Firefox ESR in a portable edition with 29 addons and 13 plugins of various kinds and even with all that excess baggage the hint functionality works just fine on my end.

Perhaps reinstalling Seamonkey on top of itself (without uninstalling what you have presently) could solve it, again I can't say for certain. If there's some kind of error in the Seamonkey user profile causing this, reinstalling on top of what's already there will not necessarily fix the problem. Perhaps a secondary installation of Seamonkey to a totally different directory as a test might be useful as that would create a new user profile (it should). If not, try Seamonkey Portable which is a self-contained install in a single directory with it's own discrete user profile that cannot overwrite what the full install version you already have is currently using.

I reverted to an earlier Firefox and did a Windoz 7 earlier date....Did what you tried with the mouse hovering over a thread and noticed it wasn't working. Then saw I wasn't Logged In...........Anybody having trouble with Firefox 42? When I go to Tools and Options the Options won't work. (or anything else) They went to a different style and I can't get past General Tab. Went back to Firefox 37. I know, not a good idea but it works. When they fix it I'll update..

I am logged in. Like I said in my first post, I have a brand new PC I built myself. It has Windows 7 Pro 64Bit on it using Seamonkey version 2.39-the "balloons" pop up on that PC.

Now on this older PC that was running Windows XP Pro with a very older version of Seamonkey, the pop-up balloons worked fine. I installed a 250GB SSD with Windows 7 32Bit into it, installed the Seamonkey browser version 2.39 (the same version that's on the new PC), and the pop-ups aren't working.

I'll figure it out eventually, I just thought somebody here might have known what the problem was.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I appreciate them regardless of whether they work or not.
