I have a Kenwood TK-3140 (1) (450-490MHZ) and am using KPG-74D ver. 1.11 to program it. When I select the appropriate model/frequency and program it in "Conventional Format", the radio accepts the new code plug and operates fine. When I select the same frequency/model in "Trunking Format" and try to load a code plug in to it, I receive a message the says "Model Type is Wrong. Overwrite?"
I receive this message even if I only have a conventional system and no trunked system in the code plug. Any idea why this problem occurs? I haven't followed through with an overwrite as I'm unsure whether this would brick the radio.
One final note: There is no "K", "K2" or "K3" under the TK-3140 on the ID sticker. There is only a "1"
Any help would be appreciated.
