TK-5210-K7 and NOAA

Question here and sorry if posted somewhere else I searched and found nothing.

Our Ambulance service uses TK-5210-K7 (VHF) radios Hardwire Vs. 2.0 We have KPG-95D Vs 5.20 software.
One of our medics have asked if we can load the NOAA station for the area in it. Not as important to have the alerts as to just hear it so starting simple. I set it to recive only and put in the freq 162.475 but cannot find anywhere to put the FIPS code of 017189. I am assuming this code has to be set also because it is quiet without it. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

update

Ok I was wrong it does pickup a broadcast I was just downstairs in our day room which is an old fall out shelter lead lined walls and all LOL. So on to next step can it be set for alerts? and if so how do I set the FIPS code.

The radio can not use the fips code. It was not designed to act as a weather alert reciever.

The only alerting you might be able to get it to do it setup two-tone decode for 1050hz. That is the tone used when an alert goes out, but you will hear all the alerts off the tower, not just your county.

but in order for the tone alert he would have to leave it on that channel.

I program VHF radios with the wx channel but it so they can go to it and listen for a few mins then switch back. Also never put in scan list cause it will always stop.
