tk 785 for 222 mhz amateur use

Just found an interesting blurb that the TK 785 can be used on 222! Short article says put TK 780 firmware in it, then use KPG-49D to program,

Anyone had any experience doing this

No, but looking at the specs for that radio, you need to consider some other things, first:
In the 220 range, they make two different model radios, the TK-785 type 1 and TK-785 type 2.
Type 1 does: 217-235
Type 2 does: 250-270

Also, they do narrow band (2.5kHz deviation/12.5kHz bandwidth) only. I think most amateur 220 is wide band (5/25KHz)

Would be interesting to try out. I know others that have done the 220 mod on the Motorola CDM's.
