TK-890H and KPG-44DN

I will soon have my hands on a TK-890H and am trying to get set up for programing it.

I have seen that there are different version of KPG-44D. Both DOS and Windows. I would prefer a windows version. I have an old laptop running Win95 (or maybe it is Win98) that I use for programming a MTR2000 and GR1225, so I am no stranger to running old software on an old OS. But I don't have a real DOS environment currently. I see that KPG-44DN v2.1 is windows based but I read that it either defaults to narrowband, or converts/forces narrowband. If it just defaults to narrowband, I am fine with that as long as wideband can be selected and used. I do need to be able to set wideband for a few channels that allow it. If it locks everything to narrow and ignores it even if you select wide (like ICOM does) then that won't work for me. Does anyone know if the DN version allows wideband to be used?

If it does not, I read that here is a KPG-DK that is windows (and I assume not narrowband), but I have been unable to find a reliable source for that.

I am hoping that the DN version allows wideband, because that version is much easier to find.

It is possible that the DOS KPG-44D will run in an emulated DOS, but I suspect that a Windows version would be better.

Anyone know the specifics on the KPG-44DN?

Just to close this out, I received my TK-890H and programmed it using KPG-44D v2.1 (windows). I was able to program using Windows 8.1 and windows10. While the v2.1 does default to narrow when adding a new channel, you can easily change a channel to wide and the 890 transmitted just fine in both narrow and wide. So the windows version 2.1 does not lock anything narrow.
