Kenwood: TM V7 Radio locked Up

I have a Kenwood FM Dual Bander TM V7. Till now it has worked perfectly. Somehow it has locked itself. I've got the manual and do what it says to unlock it without any
luck. The screen says EXT REMOTE. Everything is locked. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Daisy and welcome to Radio Reference! On your Kenwood TM-V7, have you tried the two lock functions on Page 67 of the manual? With respect to the display showing EXT REMOTE, it almost sounds like it is looking for a remote controller or control head but I don’t think that radio has either feature. Can you provide us with any additional information that would give us more insight as to what you were doing just before the lock condition occurred, etc.? Thanks!

Hi Dave
I was long pressing the memory channels button to put it into scan mode. I was thinking of doing a factory reset. Not sure if that would help or not.

Yes all is well. Did a partial reset .Memory channels stayed . Problem gone.
