Kenwood: TM271 Stops Scanning

Anyone else have/had issues with the scan function just stopping at random? The other day, I was driving around and finally noticed I hadn't heard a peep for quite some time. Looked down, and it was just stopped on a secondary channel. I resumed the scan and it was fine. It doesn't do this constantly, but it's happened maybe a half dozen times in the last few months.

Even a slight bump on the PTT button (and possibly any other button on the radio face) will stop the scan. Is your microphone hung up in a clear area?

Well, it must be a fault of some kind, either in the mic or the radio, because my mic has been clipped to the dash for months and hasn't been touched. I don't have my ticket at the moment so this rig is just a glorified mobile scanner.

Could be an intermittent short/open in the mic cable or connector. Disconnect the microphone for a week or two and see if it fixes the problem.
