I have noticed a lot lately especially around Davidson County that 159.330 and 159.435 are linked/simulcasting, so are all region or field office TDF repeaters linked together and how is there dispatch setup?
Each Forestry district has a set of repeaters that are linked together by microwave and using a voting comparator system. The repeaters have different output frequencies but the same input. When a subscriber unit keys up, the comparator picks the cleanest signal and repeats it to all of the repeaters on the system.
Each main district office has a dispatch.
If they were then there would be no way for them to talk here in Cocke county. TACN coverage is limited around the state line area and has no coverage in the eastern part of the county where all of our fires have been.
