To bring or not to bring, that is the question

I will be in the LA basin Sept 8th to the 12th. I was thinking about bringing my 246T but I will be with people that have no real scanning/Ham radio experinces. So should I bring it? hmmmmm does not take up much room, could be fun to listen to several different departments at once. I will be at LAX watching/nad photo'ing planes so its a plus to have it there. hmmmmmmmmmmm choices............................

Sure, Even though LAPD is digital still a ton to listen to. Im brining two this weekend to the race in Fontana to watch Mark win it.

No question...always bring your scanner!!! If no one else wants to listen...use headphones!!

I always bring a radio with me. The people who know me have gotten so used to it if I do not have one and there are sirens they want to know what is going on. I bring a ear-bud with me so it will not disturb people if they do not want to here it.

What channels do I need for LA County Fire and LA City Fire. I do not need the PD, and the suburbs I have already.
