So what's the deal with this new talkgroup? What will be heard on it?

It's not new. It's the Old North TG. It's still in the TPD radios as channel position 1. They went down to two dispatchers when they closed the NW district station. So, for now its not used. If they ever open the NW district again they may re-activate it. The old NW TG crews are now dispatched on South. However sometimes you'll get someone keying up on Old North accidentally.

The old north patrol area was actually split between south and central. They redrew the sector maps when they eliminated the north patrol channel. I'm not sure why someone submitted that the talkgroup had changed to northwest patrol. If the northwest district station ever reopened for patrol roll call, it would be called north patrol again.
