Tom Swisher named new lead database administrator for RadioReference

I'm pleased to announce that Tom Swisher (wa8pyr), is joining our senior leadership team as our lead database administrator and manager.

Tom will be taking over duties from Eric Carlson, who is stepping down to provide greater focus on professional responsibilities with his employer. Eric will continue to maintain a role as a global volunteer database administrator, and we're very thankful of all his accomplishments in leading our database management efforts. He did an exemplary job!

Tom has extensive professional and hobbyist experience in public safety communications. He currently is the trunked radio system administrator for Franklin County, OH, and has previously operated as a dispatcher and radio technician. He also has solid experience in database and system administration, and he's been a global database administrator since 2002 - skills which will definitely help us lead our efforts to continue to manage and grow the database as a top online resource.

I can't emphasize enough how much Eric Carlson has contributed to this site. He worked hard to finalize and implement our database administration policy, and standardized quite a bit of our data management techniques.

I'm really glad he is sticking around as a global admin - he did a great job for a number of years leading our administration team. Kuddos to Eric indeed....!
