Lots of activity heard on FCTRS Special Ops, South Patrol, TAC-1, ChatHills (IIRC this is the "old" FCPD Admin talkgroups), haven't heard anything on UASI but I heard reference from two SO units to switch over to "UASI Law WEST).

This is huge event and great for South Fulton. Nothing major other than a few people falling out, drunk stuff, and a couple of fights. Considering the number of people present, it's relatively peaceful so far.

I don't live near there so I have no idea what they are using on site for comms. Interesting to note that the festival specifically ALLOWS "walkie talkies" as permitted devices. That's pretty cool...

When you get a technologically advanced biomass together, cellphones and the Internet bandwidth they clog up on the few cell sites around the area turns into a communication nightmare and production / security understands this. Frs is even jammed up at these events.

The production radios are typically itinerant channels licensed to a rental provider.

I sat across the river Friday night for about hour to see what I could monitor. There were tons of FRS radios going. With 50,000+ people, cell phones don't work well. 460.412 is the director/producer calling the shots for the cameras. Other then that, I wasn't able to capture anything. Law enforcement is on the Fulton System on ID 44816. It is not listed in the database, so I have no idea what precinct it belongs too.

I didn't get any close call hits which leads me to believe they are not using a repeater. They wouldn't need to anyway. If I was getting FRS that far away then 2 watt radios would do fine over those 500 acres. My point is, unless you are at the event, there really isn't anything to monitor other then law enforcement which only get involved when their security invites them too. I'm pretty sure if you carried a scanner into the event, you wouldn't be able to hear it over the noise.. haha

I think it is awesome that the world chose to have this event right here. Another reason to be proud to be in the Atlanta area.

Here is a taste of what the local residents hear until the early morning hours.

It is a great event, I wish I could have gone- but I work weekend rotation.
I wonder if they are using MotoTRBO or NXDN? No digital signals in the VHF/UHF range by chance SkiBob?

FYI you may also want to add FCSO TAC-2 to your scan list, I heard alot of reservists traffic on there related to the event. 44816 is the "old" South Admin talkgroup. I am not sure how it is labeled in their radios now. My MTS2000 template is from 2003 way before the big North county "mass exit"

Thanks for making me look at my groups. I just realized my SO group was on lockout.

When I was searching, I focused on 450.00 - 470.00. I ran up into 800-900 a couple of times, but it takes so long to get through all the data and paging garbage. No digital coms were noticed. I had 2 scanners searching.

It was fairly early in the night (by their standards). So maybe it was bad timing on my part. There is more action around the midnight range.

I didn't know this event existed until I heard 2 helicopters on the unicom talking about how they are expecting 150,000 people. Next year I will be prepared.

It doesn't surprise me that all you heard was the VD calling shots. He's outside in a nice, airconditioned trailer. Venues are typically faraday cages of a sort.

Unfortunately, I know way too much about TomorrowWorld and the inner workings of the audio systems in place to make further comments in this thread. While I love chatting about this stuff I like my job more!

Here we go again. TomorrowWorld/DreamVille 2014. It starts Thursday and goes until Sunday. Fulton County was doing traffic last night and today 2 banner tow planes and a helicopter are talking on 123.45.

Please post active freqs. so we can enjoy this huge, but short event.
