Will the tone mode stay on after I go back to regular scan mode? My dispatch channel is shared with several other towns along with street dept, sanitation, ect. It would be nice to be able to set a tone on the frequency and have it only open when there is a call. if not someone should work on this option

I also have compiled all the tone frequency for my area is there a area on the site to share that info

Depends on which model scanner you have. If your scanner has CTCSS/DCS then it should unmute only when it hears a transmission matching the CTCSS/DCS programmed in.

Look at the top of each and every page at the big blue bar. Next to the
last word is "Submit Info". Hit that magic button and see what happens.

Happy Monitoring!

If you mean the Fire Tone-Out mode, no. The scanner must stay on the frequency continuously in order to ensure no tone-outs are missed.

Paul, I am confused as to what the original poster is asking for...is he asking a question about CTCSS/DCS or Fire Tone Out?
Maybe he will come back and clarify his question.

Sorry for the confusion I have compiled all the Short (A) and long (B) fire tones for my surrounding towns and was hoping I could put them in the Fire Tone-Out mode and have it running in the back ground so I did not have to listen to the other talk on the frequency, but still be able to scan the other frequency.
Unfortunately for me it seem like the answer is no at this time. I tried assigning the ctcss but that only has cut out some of the chatter but one of the main towns we respond to does not us a PL so I block them out completely

This is for the BCT15

It would require a 2nd receiver in the scanner in order to continuously monitor for a tone-out while scanning.
