Tonto National Forest

Rumor has it that Tonto Fire Net 1 repeater output has changed to 171.500. This freq previously was the input for Fire Net 2 repeater. This makes me think there may be other changes. Can anyone confirm the freqs and tones for Tonto Fire Net 1, 2, Admin, and Law?

Hi, cellphone, I had stumbled onto a regional "organizer" of sorts that stated that TNF was going to change frequencies, tones, inputs, etc in FY19, but have yet to hear them on any of those frequencies. What I do hear from my spot in NW Phoenix is just Mount Ord using the frequency listed in the database. Will certainly keep ears peeled and report to the forums if I hear any new freqs in use!

I programed the following last week when I saw a discussion on the topic in another forum;

Fire Net 1 171.5000
Fire Net 2 170.5000
Admin 170.4750

I heard the weather report come across all frequencies yesterday. I assume the dispatcher was simulcasting and I had no confirmation on what was Net 1, 2, or Admin. I was mobile at the time traveling WB A202 @ Scottsdale Rd and could hear 171.5000 more clear than 170.4750

If you heard Fire Net 1 as 171.5000, and Admin as 170.4750. Then the change has started. The Old Fire Net 1 was 164.8250/164.1250, Old Admin was 168.7250/168.1250. Now we just need to find Fire Net 2.

Can anyone confirm the input frequencies?

I am getting mixed messages on the Admin repeater. Can anyone confirm Admin Repeater is 170.475?

also if your scanner will take the sq mode as NFM besure to move it to NFM

For some reason, I have 170.425 as the possible frequency for Tonto NF Admin. Suggest that those near the forest try this frequency in addition to 170.475.

I have confirmed by monitoring that 170.475 is the Admin repeater. I have not caught a new input frequency yet for this repeater.

164.1375 seems to be the new input for Fire Net 2 170.5000 Output. Admin seems to be a separate repeater with output 170.475.

Did they change the input from 164.1375
sounds like Forest 2 only became Admin [Name change]

I caught the input for the Admin repeater this morning. 164.125 is the new input for 170.475 output Admin Repeater. I also confirmed input and output tones. I will get this updated in the DB and Wiki.

Yesterday I spoke with a ranger from Tonto and he said they now have portable repeaters setup due to the terrain. He also stated the fire will get much bigger and it will go all the way to Globe. He said it will burn until the monsoons arrive.
