I took my General test 3 weeks ago. Have not heard anything from the FCC yet? My Tech took less than 2 weeks. 🤷‍♂️

All amateur radio licensing VE teams work through a Volunteer Examiner Coordinator (VEC). Some VECs process the paperwork from test sessions very quickly; some don't. If you can get in contact with the VE team who proctored your test session, I'd start with them.

The process is: VE team sends (either electronically or on paper) test session paperwork to VEC, VEC reviews submitted paperwork, VEC assembles data file for uploading to FCC, FCC processes data and issues licenses (or notifies you that you need to send money).

If you have your certificate of successful completion you have one year to use your new privileges. After you announce your call, add "stroke AG".
eg: (xxNxxx/AG)

I'm with AK9R, check with your VE. I helped with a test session 3 weeks ago. Our lead sent everything in electronically same day (Saturday). People were seeing their revision in the FCC database Tuesday.

My VE sends everything in by mail and it usually takes 3 to 4 weeks for updates to show up in the FCC database.

Seriously? Someone needs to kick them in the you-know-what and get them out of the dark ages. There's absolutely no excuse for not using some kind of electronic means to transmit exam results from the VE team to the VEC. And there is now exam software out there that automatically prepares the batch file so all the VEC has to do is upload it to the FCC.

Maybe the FCC should just get Google to host their website and then we can get our license Amazon! Outsource baby!

You young whippersnappers. 33 years ago, when I was first licensed, I had to wait for my license to come in the mail from the FCC. Took about 6 weeks from test to license.

Yes, I know. Times have changed. Folks expect faster turnaround.

A lot times they are expecting to fast of a turn around. Most young people seem to have lost all ability to wait.
