The tap is done, if it can be at all, around the detector stage, much in the same way as the discriminator would be in a scanner. At this stage, you're not concerned with the bandwidth to which the radio restricts you.

While this isn't an absolute, the DRM signal that one would be looking for in the radio is around 12 khz wide. Whether the radio can supply this, I have no idea. Mike

Its look like the dont Support NFM on the CB Band?
If its true its total useless on CB.

The next thing is SSB Bandwidth is just 4 kHz?!
That mean I cant decode on my Pc DRM30 with Dream.

Re DRM - see my last post #21. To get DRM, you would need to install a tap at the detector or nearby to it; the actual bandwidth used in a mode is determined well ahead of this stage. Whether such a tap could be done to a PL880, I have no idea. Not every radio can supply an unfiltered 12khz signal (which is what DRM requires, at least on HF).

Re narrowband on CB - I highly doubt you will find any inexpensive portable with that mode available on 27 Mhz. Radios like this are really not 'set up' to work in Austria or other countries where that mode is a common one on that band.

You could always 'slope-tune' FM on the CB band -- in AM mode.

Tune to the side, in AM mode.

I have done this, years ago, to hear 10 meter FM stations.

Just a note to owners of the Tecsun PL-880. I have taken apart old or unused battery packs for laptop computers and they will yield six to nine 18650 batteries. Usually just the regulator dies or one or more of the batteries. The rest are usually good to go!
The batteries are attached together by spot welded metal straps that easily pull off. This leaves a picky, pointy and sharp leftover but these can be sanded off or pressed down. I have a charger that I bought on Ebay to bring them up to full charge. Now I have plenty of spares for both my 880 and my two or three LED flashlights or torches....
