How was the scanning on this event? Any cause for the fire yet?

Topeka Fire did a nice job. Went to 3+ alarms- check out the pics in the Capitol Journal and you will see what they were dealing with.

This hotel (former Holiday Inn Downtown) has a long history of fire problems- inoperable alarms, etc.

Being investigated as arson. Started in the 8th floor cocktail lounge.

I was watching the video of the fire and see a rear mounted ladder truck driving in. The truck was painted yellow. Who's truck is that?

Ahh yes- the ol yellow aerial...

That is the Topeka FD reserve aerial- an old Pierce. I saw it sitting in place of Aerial 5 a few weeks ago. Apparently they are having some problems. If I am not mistaken- Aerial 5 is due for replacement next year.

Thanks for the update. I had quessed is was some sort of reserve unit.
